Responsible Lending
Our commitment to consumer protection under the National Credit Act.
Our Commitment
Pfukani Cash Loans (NCRCP17495) is committed to responsible lending practices. Access to credit should come with understanding, responsibility, and respect. Every loan we issue is a promise to you that the terms are fair, the costs are clear, and the repayment plan is realistic.
Affordability Assessments
The National Credit Act requires us to conduct a thorough affordability assessment before approving any loan. We review your bank statements, payslip, and existing credit commitments to ensure you can afford the proposed instalments without experiencing financial distress.
If the assessment shows that repayment would be difficult, we may reduce the loan amount, extend the term, or decline the application entirely. This protects you from borrowing more than you can reasonably repay.
Transparent Costs
Before you commit to any loan, we provide a written quotation that clearly sets out the principal amount, interest rate, once-off fees, monthly instalments, and the total amount you will repay. There are no hidden charges, and no interest or fee is charged that is not permitted under the NCA.
What you can always expect from us.
No hidden costs
Every fee is disclosed in writing before you sign. What you see is what you pay.
Realistic repayment plans
We structure loans around what you can comfortably afford never more.
POPIA-protected data
Your documents are handled securely, never uploaded through this website, and never shared without consent.
Honest communication
If your circumstances change, we'd rather hear from you than have you go silent. We work with you, not against you.
What we will never do
- Lend without a completed affordability assessment.
- Charge interest, fees, or penalties that exceed the NCA caps.
- Pressure you into signing before you've had time to read the quotation.
- Withhold your ID, bank card, or any document as security for a loan.
- Use threats, harassment, or intimidation to recover a debt.
- Share your personal information with anyone other than registered credit bureaux and lawful authorities.
- Encourage you to borrow more to repay existing debt.
Your rights under the National Credit Act
As a consumer, you have strong legal protections. You have the right to:
A written quotation before entering into any credit agreement.
A copy of your credit agreement within 5 business days of signing.
Settle your loan early at any time without penalty - interest is recalculated to the settlement date.
Access to your credit record and to have inaccurate information corrected.
Complain to the NCR or a registered credit ombudsman if you feel you've been treated unfairly.
Credit Bureau Reporting
All credit providers registered with the NCR are required to report loan information and payment behaviour to registered credit bureaux. This means:
- Your loan will be recorded on your credit profile.
- On-time repayments will be reflected positively.
- Missed or late payments may negatively affect your credit score and your ability to borrow in future.
- You can request one free credit report per year from any registered bureau.
Over-Indebtedness and Debt Counselling
If you are struggling to meet your monthly debt obligations across multiple creditors, you may be over-indebted. Under the NCA you have the right to apply to a registered debt counsellor for debt review, which can restructure your repayments into a single, affordable plan.
Not sure where to start? Contact the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627 or visit ncr.org.za for a list of registered debt counsellors in your area. Debt counselling is confidential and free of judgement.
If You Are Struggling to Repay
Financial difficulty happens. The worst thing you can do is avoid us silence turns a manageable problem into a serious one. Contact us before a payment is missed, and we will explore every lawful option with you, including:
- Rescheduling a payment date;
- Restructuring the repayment plan;
- Referring you to a registered debt counsellor;
- Where appropriate, writing off part of the debt to help you recover.
Complaints and Escalation
If you believe we have treated you unfairly or acted outside the NCA, we want to hear about it. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue directly. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may escalate your complaint to:
WhatsApp 063 036 0726 or email info@pfukanicashloans.co.za. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
